Bewdley Bowling Club, a members only club, was found by a group of local gentleman on the 30th May 1902, with the clubs first president being none other than Stanley Baldwin who went on to be Prime Minister three times, becoming the only premier to have served under three monarchs

The original green was located in the centre of Bewdley, at the back of the George Hotel, until in the late 1950’s and with the aid of the Sports Council the committee purchased the site on Severnside North where the club is now located, with the club house being a small wooden pavilion. The present clubhouse was built and opened in April 1981.

In its early days the Club was, like many others of the time, an all male club, with ladies only permitted to socialise. This changed in the late 1960s with the decision to allow ladies to become members in their own right. Now the club has a large mixed membership of all ages, with the large majority of these playing on the heavily used green during a season that runs from April to October. Eight teams play in both the Kidderminster & District Midweek and The Kidderminster & District Saturday/Sunday League. Teams are mixed and contain all age groups.

The Club demonstrates all the best aspects of bowling, from competitive league competitions through to social bowling. It is a sport that allows active participation for all age groups, young and old playing alongside and against each other. The club has a very family feel, with many generations of the same family having membership.

The Club Captain organises a full calendar of Club competitions on most Sunday afternoons throughout the season, starting at 3.00pm, with all members invited to take part, whatever their skill level. During the winter season the club run three short mat leagues, Singles doubles and triples, on a Sunday, Monday and Tuesday night starting at 7.15pm. The Social committee also run a series of events throughout the year, and these include Fetes, Live Music and Bingo twice a week. The club is open all year, and offer a range of activities , which include darts and crib teams that both play in local leagues.
